How to Find Your Body Type
First determine your body type by taking your measurements; do this with no clothes on the best accuracy. Use a cloth measuring tape, carefully measure your bust line, your waistline, and your hips at their widest point. Don’t fudge these numbers ~ you will only be cheating yourself when you will need this information for making decisions later on!!!
Write these three numbers onto a piece of paper.

Now let’s analyze your body type using the following guidelines.
If your bust, and hips are close in size and your waistline has very little indentation when you look at yourself in the mirror, you have what is called an H body type, straight up and down. Scroll down to see how you can add curviness and femininity to your body type.
If your waist the largest measurement, of the three, you have a round body type. Scroll down to find how to minimize the roundness your body type.
An A body type has a small bust line, average waist and larger hips. You can see tips below on how to balance the bust line and hip measurements.
An hourglass body type will have large bust line, curvy hips, and a narrow waist. See below how to make your figure look elegant and classy!

I’m 18 years old, 5ft 4in tall, I can’t find the right Prom Dress to wear. I Have broard shoulders,some extra fat on and around my belly and back and arms. There are several things to consider when you buy your prom ensemble. You want to de-emphasise your body and emphasise your face , hair and eyes.
Wear a prom dress that is:
Monochrome
a prom dress in one color elongates the body, making you look slimmer
Dark muted colors make you look thinner.
Not everyone should wear black, so think deep gray, silver, wine, raisin, burgundy, forest green, russet, midnight blue, golden brown, cocoa, cranberry, eggplant.

Neutral colors, black, silver, gray, beige, taupe, gold, will make you appear taller and more slender.
Long straight skirts or dresses are great for prom -just be sure the skirt is not too tight around your behind!

Now lets consider your body type. You have what is called a round body type and there are plenty of dresses that will make you look perfect on prom night! Look for prom dresses that de-emphasize the middle, such as drop waist or no waist dresses.
Cristina, have you considered a strapless gown? The benefits of a strapless is that there are no straps to pinch into the flesh. Your arms will look much thinner if you avoid straps cutting into them!
Next thing to consider : your bodice should be simple and trim and the rest of the dress should drape, straight down from the bust line, This will hide your belly. (Don’t worry, you will lose your extra baby fat as you get older)
I think I found a darling dress for you! And its on sale! It is strapless, but it also includes spaghetti straps, if you wish. The bodice hugs the bust line, AND it drapes (not hugs) your middle. I think its perfect. What do you think about it?
